Staff Accountant
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting, and contributing to month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger activity.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain and analyze financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested information.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a fast-paced business environment.
- Knowledge of GAAP.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- CPA designation or progress toward certification is a plus.
